Stella Melbye-Konan, Gallerist and Art Historian
Born in 1988 in Hamburg, Stella Melbye-Konan studied Art History and Communication at the University of Hamburg and went on to complete a master’s degree in Museum Management at the renowned École du Louvre in Paris. Her professional career has taken her to institutions such as the Centre Pompidou and the Musée Carnavalet. She has also collaborated with the French architect Dominique Perrault. In 2020, she founded her gallery, Melbye-Konan, in Hamburg, which places a particular focus on European and African perspectives as well as the promotion of emerging talent.
On October 10, as part of the gallery tour Kunst am Rothenbaum, she will open the solo exhibition Visions of Collisions featuring works by the artist Marie de Villepin.
